ROYAL PRINCES SUED.
ALLEGED PLOT
Princes of two roy.nl houses are concerned in two cases before the Vienna courts. Prince Cyril of Bulgaria is the defendant in an action brought by Dr Hergloss. a Vienna bank director, who claims £IO,OOO for services rendered to Prince Cyril, who. with his cousin. Prince (Philip) Josias, is the heir to the great Saxe-Cobnrg-Gotha estates in O.eebo-Slovakia, left by Prince Philip of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha. Prince Josias is heir to the greater portion, but be is bated on account ol Ids German upbringing, whereas Prince Cyril, who is known as the Slav Prince, is popular in Czecho-Slovakia. The property of Prince Josias was confiscated by ilio State under the Land Deform Bill, but a special law was introduced, known as the Lex Cyril, to enable Prince Cyril to inherit, despite the Land Reform Bill.
An agreement was arranged between Prince Josias and Prince Cyril, giving Prince Josias 58 per cent, and Prince Cyril 12 per cent, of the estates, which are valued at nearly £1.000,000. The princes quarrelled later, and it is alleged that Prince Cyril, desirous of obtaining the whole of Jus cousin’s share in order to avoid confiscation, employed intermediaries to effect a reconciliation. Dr Hergloss claims the money 'on this account, but Prince Cyril declares that the whole affair is a plot. Count Sternberg is brinidng a civil action against the ruling Prince John of Liechtenstein, but tlie bearing was broken off in enable a charge of slander to be bromibt by Colonel Fold, of the Austrian General Staff, against Count Sternberg.
