One pair of Hies, left unhindered to breed, would cover the whole earth’s .surface to the extent of Gin deep in a year. This was one of the statements made by Mr A. Moore Hogarth, chairman of the College of Pestology, in a London speech. Nobody bad any idea of the immensity of the insect problem, said Mr Hogarth. It was responsible for the loss of thousands of lives.
