Monday 11th Obituary. The death is reported of Mr P. Goyen, for many years inspector of schools. He was 82 years of age. An Impudent Theft. A man purchased a bottle of wine at the Excelsior Bottle Store, Dunedin, and whilst the storeman’s back was turned, he got away with the contents of the till, about £l7. Cricket East England’s first innings realised 170 and New Zealand have lost 5 for 131Football. Dunedin results— Varsity Al7, Kaikorai 0 Pirates and Alhambra 15 all. Varsity B 11, Taieri 8 Zingari 9, Dunedin 6 Southern 13, Union 6 Ranfurly Senior retults, Becks 8 Gimmerburn 7. This is Gimmerburns first defeat this season. The ground and ball were very slippery. Junior results; Hyde 14 Fatearoa 6. By defeating Wairarapa 21 to 10 Hawkes Bay recovered the Ranfurly Shield. In the Soccer Test match New Zealand beat Canada by 1 goal to nil.
