PERSONAL.
Mr J. Clare, of Omakau was the victim of a nasty accident recently, the horse he was riding stumbling and falling. Mr Clare had a bad spill, which unfortunately resulted in a broken shoulder.
Durfng. an interval at the Fire Brigade Sooial on Wednesday last, Mr J. Holt (captain) who has been a member of the Brigade for many years, and who has recently retired, was presented with a pocket wallet as a token of esteem. The presentation was made by the Brigade Secretary (Mr W. Uren). Archdeacon Woodthorpe is on a visit to Central Otago, and he met the local vestry on Saturday, when he conveyed the interesting information that the new Vicar (Key. Mr Pywell) would preach at Clyde on the first Sunday in July. The Archdeacon preached yesterday— at Alexandra at 9 a m., Clyde 11 a.m, and at Cromwell at 7 p-m.
