VINCENT HOSPITAL BOARD.
Mr Ritchie was in the chair and there was a full attendance. A meeting of the Hospital Board was held at Clyde on Wednesday last. Accounts were passed for payment —Cromwell Hospital L 244 8 9, Dunstan L 219 G 8, administration L 27Dr Harrison stressed the urgent need for renovations to the theatre at the Dunstan Hospital and it was decided to obtain estimates, Mr Spain reported that the hot water service at Dunstan was a failure, and it was decided to hold the next meeting of the Board at the hospital, when this matter and the question of a new laundry will be gone into. The matron applied for and it was decided to purchase twelve chairs and two bedsteads for the nurses quarters at the Dunstan Hospital. Tenders are to be called for concrete and trellis work at the Cromwell Hospital. Mr Ritchie was re-appointed to the Waipiata Sanatorium committee. Dr Valentine telegraphed in reply to a deputation (Messrs Spain and Black) that had waited on him that he considered it would be more economical to make Dunstan the main hospital and reserve Cromwell for maternity cases. Mr Spain thought Dr Valentine was begging the question of T.B- shelters at Dunstan. — The chairman was pointed to wait on Dr Valentine when in Wellington.
