HOCKEY.

Glorious weather prevailed for the Hockey Association’s tournament, which was held at Clyde on Saturday. There was a good attendance —£l3 being taken at the gates- The play was most interesting and of a high standard right through. The management left nothing to be desired, and the tourney was finished in good time, Responsible officials were : supervisors, Messrs WAnnan and Lopdell ; timekeeper, Mr J. Bell; recording secretaries Messrs Fleming and I uke ; secretary, Mr W, Hewitt; refeees, Messrs W- K. George, Chapman, Walker, Mee, Morgan, Hewitl and Kemp. At the conclusion of the Journey Mr Hewitt presented the silver buttons to the runners-up (the Cromwell High School) and in doing so congratulated them on their good play The Town Hall was well packed at the dance in the evening, when the C lyde team, winners of the Senior grade tourney were presented with the gold buttons Mr W. Hewitt, in doing so, spoke in very complimentary terms of the teams fine showing, particularly referring to the wonderful play of their captain (Miss Hilda Keddell.)
