So greait was the glut of plums at Stratford-ou-Avon (Fing.) market recently that, after an auction at which bid was made for 72 pounds of Victoria plums, a woman was given sixpence to takei them away. If the sea dried up. there would be left 5,000,000 square miles of salt one milo thick.
