Our Omakau correspondent writes —At his residence here on Friday there passed away a very old and respected resident of the district, in the person of Mr Jas. Corrigal. Some months ago he had a paralytic stroke, but up til! within a few days of his death he was able to get about, and was an interested spectator at the recent show. A second seizure, however, was responsible for removing a genial friend and a familiar figure from our midst. Mr Corrigal, who was 65 years of age, is survived by a large family, all grown up- The funeral took place this (Sunday) afternoon- » « • • Mr A- E. Cohen, a well-known Dunedin journalist, who was sub-editor of the 'Evening Star' for many years, died suddenly on Thursday last. »»#»*■ The conference of delegates from the Vincent and Maniototo Boards in connection with the establishment of a resident doctor at Lauder is to be held this afternoon.
