Mr Jas. Horn speaks at Cromwell to-night, at Alexandra tomorrow, and Clyde on Wednesday night. At nearly ever place visited Mr Horn has been specially thanked for his attention to local wants, and he richly deserves the compliment paid him by all sections of the community. He has served his constituents faithtully and well, and his reward will be (despite the frantic efforts of the P.P-A-) a substantial majority on Thursday next. Mr W- Smith, telegraphist, commenced his duties at the Clyde Post Office this morning. The news of the distressingly sad and sudden death of Mr A. McLean, Rector of the Alexandra District High School, was received with feelings of profound regret on all sides- Mr McLean was apparently in good health and spirits and was at Cromwell taking part in a bowling match on Saturday when he suddenly collapsed- He was a man of sterling worth, and one who was respected and esteemed by all who knew him. The funeral takes place at Alexandra this afternoon. To Mrs McLean and family we extend our heartfelt sympathyHave you seen the smart, new ready made dresses at F, J. Bloy's Victoria Clyde ?
