MOA CREEK.

• Mr J. Horn M P., held a meeting in the School on Tuesday evening when there was a good attendance. A vote of confidence was passed at the close of the meeting. The weather has been exceptionally roußii of late, there have been very strong' winds and scattered showers. Gaidening has been much hampered by dry winds and scarcity of rain. Small seeds arc very unsuccessful this season. The Inspector held his examination at the School on Nov. Ist. A Plain and Fancy Dieses Ball was held in the School on Friday the 10th. There was a very large attendance, and the Dance was a great success. There were a good many turned out in costume. Mr G. Brown made a striking figure as a monkey, Mr R. Webster as 'Uncle Sam" was a great success, also Mrs Webster as a Chinese lady, Miss Webster as Lord Nelson in a most expensive looking costume, Miss Campbell as a housemaid, Miss M. McEwan as a Red Cross Nurse, Miss C. Webster as a Nurse, Master C. Webster as a Clown, Master R. Webster as a Cricketer, Master A. Webster as a Footballer, Mr A. Mcintosh as a Ciicketer, Mr A. Corrigal as a Pierrott, two young ladies from Omakau as Night and a Nurse Mr Lieshinaii as Charlie Chaplin, Mr Bevis as a Cricketer, Mrs Bevis as Colleen Bawn, Miss Nora Bevis as a juvenile Pierott, Miss Joyce Mcintosh as a Nurse, Mr Kirkland as Folly. During the evening Miss Sarita Mannering sang "Peggy O'Neill,'' Mr Shaw sang "McNamara's Band, and Mr Helm sang -'Mountains of Mourne." Supper was served at 11.30, and seemed to be enjoyed by all. The music was in the capable hands of Messrs A. Campbell, R, Mcintosh, and John Stuart. Mr G. Brown (Chairman), made a speech in which he thanked all those who had given assistance to make the Ball a success. Mr C. Olsen was Secretary, and much thanks is due to him for the manner in which he carried out his duties.
