The Central Otago A- & P. Association is an institution which has had a somewhat chequered life. Only a few short years ago, chiefly owing t° the indifference of the people, and also of the majority of its own members, its condition was almost moribund. Fortunately, however, new life was galvanised, and of late there has been a pleasing improvement and in this connection the last two shows have shown something what our favored district can do. We use the word “something” advisedly for we are strongly of opinion that the best lias not yet been seen. To this end we appeal to our readers to do their best to exhibit as liberally as possible, and also to induce others to do so. The material is here for an exhibition of live stock, etc, which would be a credit to any district in the Dominion. The keener the competition the better the advertisement, and the greater the honour to the winners of the coveted prizes. The association is an institution which should be, and is, one of great good, and ane that every settler should foster and encourage in every possible way. Por the Show which takes place at Omakau on Wednesday, December 6th, a splendid programme has been issued- This carries liberal prizes and many handsome specials in all classes, and it should not fail to draw healthy competition.
