LTD., report During the week exceptionally heavy consignments of fruit and vegetables have oome on to the market, the "Paloona " carrying 1 500 cases of oranges and the " Holmdale '' bringing transhipments from Wellington totalling 1,300 cases of tomatoes, 600 bananas and 400 apples; and prices secured for all lines must be considered very satisfactory. Our first consignments of locally grown tomatoes realised 4s 6d per Ib, and Christchurch tomatoes 2s 6d to 3s Bd. Full supplies of green peas, new potatoes, green gocseberries and lettuce have been available. Onions are now getting into short compass and we expect an advance in price.
