The Earl of .Uo.seberry has transferred his Mentinore estate to bis son and heir. Lord Dalnieny. The announcement wan made at a private dinner, to which Lord Rosebery invited bis tenants at Mentinore mansion recently. About 20 tenants attended, and during the proceedings Lord Roseberv stated that be was leaving Mentinore at once and was transferring the estate to his son. His lordship had not been in good health for some time, and be made his announcement in a few simple words in which be expressed bis sense of the happy relations which bad always existed between bis tenants and himself, and bach; them good-bye with some feeling. Lord Dalnieny was present at the gathering, and told the tenants that there would be no important change in the administration of the estate. Lord Rosebery left Meut' more immediately after the dinner. The tenants expressed great regret at Lord Roscberv's severance from them. Most of them have farmed under him for many years, and some under his prede- < essor.
