A familiar figure in the Ida Valley district, in the person of Mr Peter Flannery, passed to his long home last week. The deceased was one of our early pioneers, und a splendid type of colonist who did his full share to assist in the development of the country he loved so well. u » * * • MrE. Sinclair, Health Inspector, with headquarters at Clyde, has been transferred to Balclutha. His place is being' filled by Mr McCallum, of Dunedin. a • • Owing to the resignation of Mr G- S- Patterson, as representative of Clutha Riding in the Vincent County Council, an extraordinary election is necessary, and nominations are invited. In accepting the resignation with regret, the Council paid'Mr Patterson a well deserved compliment, for there is no doubt he was a conscientious and attentive Councillor. His place will be hard to fillIt is with pleasure we announce that Dr A. E- Gladstone, of Alexandra, has entirely recovered from his illness. The Doctor resumed practice to-day.
