LATE TELEGRAMS
At the Gore races this afternoon (Saturday) Silent King won the principal race. Perfect Pointer won the second trot. A Wellington message states that £70,000 has been voted for Irrigation and £60,000 for the Roxburgh Railway. The present session of Parliament will probably end on the 27th inst.. and the elections will take place on the 6th or 7th of December. The competitors in the Motor Reliability Trial struck very bad conditions - snow storms and wind, those getting away first dodging the first storm. Mr Geo. Walters, who acted as the Good Samaritan to two mates in distress tested his Indian to some purpose, carrying the lot (over 40 stone) to Clyde. It reads like "cruelty to animals,' but the machine came through with flying colours.
