HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.
The annual mealing of the above, held on Friday night last, was attended by Messrs R. Robertson (chair), J. L. Davidson R. Bringans, H. Stevens, W. Gye, P. Miller. W. Sutherland, A. Wilson and R. Raj'. The balance-sheet, showing a credit balance of odd was read and received. The election of office-bearers resulted as under:— President, Mr W. Suther--1 land; Vice Presidents, Messrs A. Scoular, F. Jeffery, A. Taylor, J. Ritchie, J. Swann, Will Laidlaw, E. Kitto, E. Philips, J. Bennetts, A Richards and C. Weaver; Secretary and Treasurer. Mr R. Bringans; Auditor, Mr H. Stevens; Committee, all present and Messrs Turnbull and S. Stevens, McGlone, E. Wood, W. Lopdell and W. Elder; Programme Committee, Messrs Davidson, H. Stevens P. Miller, R. Robertson and Turnbull. It was decided to hold the Show on a Saturday in February, the date to be fixed later by the Programme Committee.
The following Judges were appointed:— Fruit, Mr S. Stevens; Vegetables and Flowers, Mr G. Skene; Industrial and Cooking, Mrs Middleton; Schools Industrial, Mr H. Stevens. On the motion of Mr Ray, a hearty vote of thanks was passed to the retiring office-bearers, special mention being made of the excellent work of the Secretary (Mr R. Bringans.
