Portsmouth's war memorial is to be a stono monument 100 ft high, on Sotithsea Common, near the entrance to Portsmouth Harbor. It will be in such a position that it may be used as a landmark for ships entering or leaving port. At its base, looking north, south, east, and west, will be four lions. The names of all those whom the monument commemorates will be written upon bronze panels.
