A telegram from Innsbruck states thai two pairs of peacocks attacked and partially blinded a baby left by a careless nurse asleep in a perambulator in the garden of a small chateau near Hals-burg, in the Tyrol. One of the infant \s eyes was totally destroyed and the other seriously injured, while tlnch ihi *s lace was otherwise greatly disfigured. This is believed to be the lirnl recorded case of peacocks attacking a child. Tlu; chateau was formerly used by the Hapsburg royal family as a hunting-lodge. ft was purchased two years ago by a Prague banker, and given as a wedding present to his diilighter and her husband. Mr and Mrs Kohn. The injured baby wan their only child.
