THE INDUSTRIAL CO-OP. SOCIETY, LTD. Tho above Society held its 2nd halfyearly meeting in the Town Hall, Alexandra, on Tuesday, 15th August. A large numbrr of members were present. The President, Mr Noble, in moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet for the six months ending June 30th, congratulated all on the splendid result achieved, and uracil Members to stand loyally by their own business. He wouid like, he said, to see them live up to the motto of the Rochdale pioneers viz. '" Each for all, and all for each." The committee's report showed the cash sales I'or the period to be £2169 7 5, being an increase of over the Hrst half year. The profit available for distribution aher paving expenses was £l2l 12s 2d which enabled the Committee to pay 6}4 per cent P. A. on paid up shares, and is6d in the £ to Members on their purchases. The largest bonus to be drawn by one member was L 7. Mr Spain congratulated the Manager and ail concerned with the management of the Society's business, and said they could achieve anything on earth by Co-operation. The Co-operative store had been a long felt want in these parts, and he had to pay a tribue to Mr Ashworth for his work in launching the Society. It was a remarkable fact that there was not a penny outstanding in bad debts. He hoped they would adhere to the cash system. —Own correspondent.

Wool.—A temporary decline in price is probable owing to the complications with Germany. Bawra will, however, hold the market steady until matters, political and financial, are adjusted in Europe.
