A careful estimate that rather understates the case, shows that every year in New Zealand yj* million pounds are wasted on intoxicating; drink. If prohibition is not carried at the next poll, this means that in the three following years, at least 500 oo» will be spent on drink. Voting prohibition will stop that, save that money for other purposes. The President ot the National Association of Manufacturers in the U. S. A. writing on March aand, 1932, said:—“ln the smaller cities and towns and in the country districts, thousands of homos have been built which would not have been built and millions of women and children have been provided with food and clothes who have suffered for these necessities if there were no Prohibition Amendment."
