Ra: n or snow falls five days out of every six in South Georgia, an outpost of the Antarctic Ocean, east of Oape Horn. Violent gales rage throughout the year, the wind frequently reaching a velocity of 140 miles an hour. When ploughing a field at Borewcll Farm, Berwick (Scotland), a horse put its foot into a hole which was found to contain a cist of the usual type, with a cover and four sandstone side slabs. Inside were the remains of a human being parts of which were well preserved. There were portions of an urn. which appeared to he of the earliest type of the bronze age, and it is computed that it dates from about 1500 B.C-
