FOOTBALL.
The (Ulyde School team played the Alexandra Convent reps at Clyde on Saturday when the home team won by 19 (tries by G. Waldron 3, D Waldron and S. Stevens, George Larking converting two) to 6 (tries by Murphy and Patterson). The boys played good football. Matakanui beat Nasebyon Saturday by 3 try by Donnelly) to nil. The ground was in a very bad state. Hats off to Matakanui, For the fourth time in succession they have the honour not only of being premiers of Maniototo but of being the holders of the Richard Young Banner as well. It is a great record and one on which they are to be heartily congratulated. Next Saturday at Cromwell, Vincent and Maniototo will try conclusions The visitors will be favorites, but the home side will take a lot of beating. The following are the teams:— Vincent.
