MONKEY LOVE SUPERIOR TO HUMAN.

When we love as monkeys do we will lie nearer a perfect monogamy, according to Dr Bernard Hollander, psychoanalyst, who added that man as lie is now constituted can and does love more than one woman simultaneously. He said this explained the continued rush for divorces. “I agree with Andre Tridon,’’ said Dr Hollander, “that the ordinary man can share his love between a tender, true woman who makes an ideal wile and a second woman who thrills him and stirs bis emotions. The ideal of mankind should bo monogamy, but a love for two or even more women at the same time is a psychological fact and cannot lie controverted. A man who genuinely loves his wife may lie attracted by another woman by purely emotional psychological influences. It is not merely a matter of sex impulse. “We are slowly ascending toward a more perfect monogamy. I believe the human impulse of polygamous, but education has taught us that one mate is best- for mankind. We have much to learn from the lower orders of nature about perfect- monogamy. Among anthropoid apes, for example, you have an almost perfect instance of single attachment between male and female. The mother love of the ape is unparalleled in the animal world and scarcely equalled by mankind. “We need restoration of the plain old fashioned sense of loyalty loyalty which makes men stand by each other in peril should make men stand by their chosen partner in the battle of life. It is all a constant war between intemperance and control. The war has created an artificial sense of independence among women, but it is the natural home life environment that will prevail over what 1 believe is a passing phase.’
