CRICKET.

Becks. The annual meeting of (he Beets Cricket Club was held at Becks on Sept. I/th. Mr T. H. Mec presided. It was decided to start cricket again, as the war had put a stop to it in 1914. The balance-sheet, showing a credit balance of £2 Is 9d, was read and adopted. The opening day was fixed for October 1 ith. The club intend to put down a concrete pitch this season. The following were elected office-bearers for the ensuing year : —President, Mr T. H. Mee; Vice-presidents, Messrs Jas. Sheppard, Jas. Clouston, M. Hamilton and R. L. Smith ; secretary, Mr R. Mee ; Captain, Mr J- Leask ; deputy-captain, Mr R. Mee ; match committee, Messrs J. Leask, T. H. Mee and R. Mee.

Chatto Creek. A large gathering of cricket enthusiasts attended a meeting at Chatto Creek, to form a club in the district. A large number of members was enrolled and there is every prospect of having a strong clubThe following office-bearers were elected : Patron, Dr Gladstonc ; President, Mr J. R. Marks ; Vice-presidents, Messrs R. Jopp, R. Mclntosh, A. Reid, Geo. Asquith, D. Kinney, A. Kinney, D. Brown, W. Fraser, G. McGlashan, S. R. Croft, W. Pitches, F. Bloy, J. Love, T.
