GRAIN AND PRODUCE REPORT, Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd report as follows: We held our weekly auction sale at ou stores, Cumberland Street, to-day when we submitted a representative catalogue to the usual attendance of buyers. Prices ruied as follows Oats : - There is a good enquiry for good bright heavy Cartons suitable for milling purposes. Offerings are light and holders are very firm, consequently only a moderate quantity is changing hands. Unsound and discolored Oats are difficult to quit. We Quote - Prime milling to 2/3 per bushel, Good to best feed 2/H to 2/2, light and inferior 1/9 per bushel, Medium 2s to 2s Id, sacks extra. Wheat.—The market remains unchanged, Millers are not operating to any extent. There is still a large quantity of Tuscan wheat offering but this variety is almost neglected. Velvet Ear and Red Chaff are in fair demand at gustation. The market is well supplied with Fowl Wheat which is in fair demand at quotations. We quote—Prime Milling to 4/2, f Velvet Ear and Red Chaff 3/8 to 3/10, Best Whole Fowl Wheat 3/4 to 3/5, Medium 3/0 to 3/3, Inferior from 2s Od Tuscan 3s Od to 3s 8d per bushel, sacks extra. Potatoes Consignments daring the past week have been coining to hand more freely. Prime well graded samples receive most attention, while medium and out of conditioned lines are difficult to place. Seed varieties are now being esquired for. We quote: —Prime table potatoes to £3 5s Od to £3 10s, medium good £3 to‘(£3 ss, Others to £3 per ton, sacks extra. Chaff Consignments during the past week have been light. As there is a fair quantity still held in store there is very little change to report in values. Prime Oaten Sheaf is in most request. Medium; disbolored and light chaff do not receive the same attention. Ltd., Bond Stree Dunedin, report as follows Ilabbitskins.—All descriptions of rabbit skins are at present in very keen demand, and consequently we have pleasure in quoting increased prices as follows Incoming and Prime winter does to 40i per lb Winter bucks 22d to 27d > “ early winters 18d to 21d “ Autumn Racks 16d to 18d “ Summers and halfgrown lOd to lOd “ Suckers and Runners 7|d to lOd “ Horsehair—l7d to 19d. Tallow—l9s to 28s per cwt. Sheepskins—Halfbreds and fine crossbreds B£d to 9d, medium and coarse cross, breds 7fd to 9|d, Lambskins 7£d to Bsd, pelts and shortwools s£d to dead and damaged halfbreds 7|d to B*d, do. crossbreds 6d to 7d, do. lambs and hoggets 7Jd. Hides and calfskins also wanted in auy quantity at market rates. These prices are Nett Cash. No Commission charged. Cheque posted the same day as the goods arrive.

STRONACH, MORRIS & CO. Stronach,' Morris & Company Ltd. report for week ending July 25th as follows, mi Fat Sheep.—2l79 were penned. They were mostly prime sheep forward. Prices taken all round were slightly firmer. Best wethers 25s 6d to 32s Od, medium to good 22s Od to 24s 6d, light 19s Od to 20s 6d, best ewes 22/0 to 24/6, extra to 31s 3d, medium to good 17s 6d to 19s 6d, light 13s 6a to 15s 6d. Fat Lambs.— 400 were penned, being the end of this season’s lot. Prices were about the same as at last week, a large number of medium lambs being taken by graziers. Quotations Best lambs 17s to 18s ; extra to 19s ; medium to good 15s 6d to 16s 6d, inferior 12s 6d to 14s 6d. Fat Cattle. —There was a yarding of 126. There was good competition, a few outside buyers being present. Prime cattle were firm at late rates, but inferior were hardly so good as last sale. —Rest bullocks £l2 Os to £ls 10s, medium £lO 0a £l2 inferior to £8 15s; best cows and heifers £9 10s to £lO 10s, medium to good £6 10s to £B, light £4 Os to £6, Pigs.—About 79 were penned. Porkers and baconers were in demand, but scores and young pigs did not meet with the same competition. Quotations—suckers to 25s 0J slips to 58s Od, stores to 36s best porkers to 525, light baconers to 655, heavy baconers to 955. Rabbitskins—We offered a very large catalogue at Monday’s sale. There was a (food attendance of buyers and competition was keen. Owing to the drop m the London market seeond winter bucks and does showed a drop of from Id to lfcd per lb Prime lines and low grades showed no change. Winters does 38d to winter bucks 21* d to 28Jd, Incoming winters 164 d to 22|d, autumns 16£ d to ISJd, silver greys to 38ifd, autumn blacks to 24d. Hides—Our next sale will be held on Thursday. _ . ...... Wheat.— We quote Prime Milling 4s Od to 4/2, medium 3,9 to 3/10 d, best whole fowl wheat 3s 4d to 3/5, medium to good 3s id to to 3s dd. Broken and damaged 3/0 to 3/2 per bushel, (sacks extra). Potatoes—There is not a very keen demand for potatoes, and prices have eased. Large consignments are coming to Band. Best table potatoes £3-5 to £3-10 medium £2 10s to £3 0s Od. Oats.— There is a fair demand for prime Gartons and Sparrowbills and as there are very few offering prices show a slight advance. Medium and inferior lots are hard to sell. Quotations Prime milling 2/3, good to best feed 2/1 to 2s 3d, inferior 1/9 to 1b lid per bushel (sacks extra).
