VINCENT SUB-UNION.

A meeting of the above union held at Alexandra on Saturday afternoon was attended by Messrs H. ,E. Stevens (chair), J Swann, D. Young, C. Hamilton, A. Crombic, A. Barnes and W. Maynard. Correspondence was read from the Tuapeka and Maniototo Sub-unions re county matches Mr Swann moved —That the match Tuapeka v. Vincent be played at Clyde on |Augusl 23rd. —Seconded by Mr Crombie and carried. With regard to the match against Maniototo the chairman explained that the O.K.F.U. had been written to asking that the match he played in Dunedin as a curtain-raiser to one ot the interpro. matches, and asking lor a grant to help to defray the expenses of the two teams. After discussion Mr Crombie moved—That in the event of an unfavorable reply from the O. R.F.U that the match against Maniototo be played at Ranfurly on Friday, sth September. —Seconded by Mr Young and carried. The names of two players (one an Alexandra man and the other from Low’burn) were placed on the cautioned list. The case of G. Jolly was appointed referee for the Vincent-Tuapeka match, Permission was granted the Alexandra Club to compete at the Ranfurly and Roxburgh tournaments. Mr Young then moved the motion standing in his name—That any club failing to fulfil its fixture be liable to disqualification from winning the banner.—Seconded by Mr Crombie and carried. The next meeting is to be held at Cromwell on the -16 th inst. Mr Hamilton mentioned that he had been told that the medals given by the Alexandra Club to the first and second teams in the senior tournament were both gold and there was nothing on them to indicate whether they were first or second. The programme stated that the prize for first would be gold medals and for second silver medals, — Resolved that the Alexandra Club be asked for an explanation.
