GRAIN AND PRODUCE REPORT. Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd report as follows : We held our weekly auction sale at ou stores, Cumberland Street, to-day when we submitted a representative catalogue to the usual attendance of buyers. Prices ruied as follows ; Oats:—The market remains dull and lifeless. Shippers and merchants are not operating to any extent. Prime heavy Cartons for milling purposes are saleable at quotations. Outside of these there is very little demand for other descriptions. We Quote - Prime milling to 2/3 per bushel, Good to best feed 2/U- to *2/2, light and inferior 1/9 per bushel, Medium 2s to 2s Id, sacks extra. Wheat.—The market remains unchanged, Millers are not operating to any extent. There is still a largo quantity of Tuscan wheat offering but this variety is almost neglected. Velvet Ear and Red Chalf arc in fair demand at quotation. The market is well supplied with Fowl Wheat which is in fair demand at quotations. We quote—Prime Milling to 4/2, Velvet Ear and Red Chsil’ 3/8 to 3/10, Rest Whole Fowl Wheat 3/4 to 3/5, Medium 3/0 to 3/3, Inferior from 2s Od Tuscan 3s fid to 3s 7d per bushel, sacks extra. Potatoes Consignments during the past week have been coming to hand more freely. Prime well graded samples receive most attention, while medium and out of conditioned lines are difficult to place. Seed varieties are now being enquired for. We quote:—Prime tabic potatoes to £4 7s 6d to £4 10s, medium good £4 to £4 os, Others from £3 per ton, sacks extra. Chaff .—lncreased consignments have been coming to hand during the past week. All lines of prime Oaten Sheaf are meeting with a ready sale at quotations. Medium light and discoloured qualities are in better demand. Quote—Prime Oaten Sheaf Chaff £4 OsOd t* £4 2s Cd, Medium Good £3 10s to £3 15s, light and discolored from £3, Choice Black Oaten Sheaf to £4 5s per ton, sacks extra. Dunedin, July 16, 1913. Ltd,, Bond Stree Dunedin, report as follows Rabbitskins.—All descriptions of rabbit skins arc at present in very keen demand, and consequently we have pleasure in quoting increased prices as follows Incoming and Prime winter does 37id to 40£ per lb Winter bucks 22d to 27d. “ early winters 18d to 21d “ Autumn Racks 16d to 18d “ Summers and halfgrovvn lOd to lOd “ Suckers and Runners 7f>d to lOd “ Horsehair—l7d to 19d. Tallow —49s to 23s per cwt. Sheepskins—Halfbreds and fine crossbreds to 9d. medium and coarse crossbreds 7Jd to 91 d, Lambskins 7£d to 84d, pelts and shortwools 5/ffi to 7|o,dead alii damaged halfbreds 7.1 d to SJd, do. crossbreds 6d to 7d, do. lambs and hoggets 74d. Hides and calfskins also wanted in auy quantity at market rates. These prices are Nett Cash. No Commission charged. Cheque posted the same day as the goods arrive. STRONACH, MORRIS & CO. Stronach, ‘Morris & Company Ltd. report for week! ending July 17th as follows ; Fat Sheep.—32o6 were penned. The quality all through was not so good as at last sale but prices were much on a par. Best wethers 25s Od to 80s 3d. medium to good 23s Od to 24s 6d, light 17s fid to 19s 6d, best ewes 21/1 lo 33/0, extra to 29s 3d, medium to good 17s fid to 19s 6d, light I3s On to Iss 6d. Fat Lambs.— 1400 were penned, being the end of tins season’s lot. Prices were about the same as at hist week, a large number of medium lambs being taken by graziers. Quotations Best lambs 16s to 17s ; extra to I9s ; medium to good 14s 6d to 15s 6d, inferior 12s 6d tol3s 6d. Fat Cattle. —There was a yarding of 2J9. There was good competition, a few outside buyers being present. Prime cattle were firm at late rates, hub inferior were 'hardly so good as last sale. —Rest, bullocks £ll 10s to £l7 2s, medium £9 15s £l2, inferior to £8 5s ; best cows and heifers £8 0s to £9 10s Od, medium to good £6 10s to £7. light £4 0s to £6. Pigs.-About 100 were penned. Porkers and baeoners were in demand, but scores and young pigs did not meet with tbs same competition. Quotations— suckers to 13s fid ; slips to 18s Od, stores to 28s, besfe porkers to 525, light baeoners to 60s, heavy baeoners to 85s, Rabbitskins—We offered a very large catalogue at Monday’s sale. There was a good attendance of buyers and competition was keen. Owing to the drop in the London market second winter bueks and does showed a drop of from Id to l|d pec lb, Primes lines and low gradss showed no change. Winters does 38d to winter bucks 21£ dto 25d, Incoming winters 16|d to 22|d, autumns 16$ d to 18RJ, silver greys to 38|d, autumn blacks to 24d. Hides—Our next sale will be held on Thursday. Wheat We quote Prime Milling 3s lOd to 3/11 i, medium 3,6 to 3/Bd, best whole fowl wheat 3s Bd to 3/4, medium to good 3s Od to to 3a 3d, Broken and damaged 3/0 to 3/2 per bushel, (sacks extra). Potatoes—There is not a very keen demand for potatoes, and prices have eased. Lame consignments are coming to hand. Best table potatoes £4-10 to £4-15 medium £4 Os to £4 5s Od. Oats.— There is a fair demand for prime Gartons and Sparrowbills and as there are very few offering prices show a slight advance. Medium and inferior lots are hard to sell. Quotations Prime milling 2/4, good to best feed 2/1 to 2s 3d, inferior 1/9 to Is lid per bushel (sacks extra). *
