A distressingly sudden death occasioned by an accident occurred here yesterday afternoon when a 12 year old son of Mr Cuff, of the White Hart boardinghouse, lost his life. Young Cuff must have lit a match for the carbide exploded, driving portions of mechanism into the boys brain and killing him instantly. Mr Cuff has been particularly Unfortunate as he had a son burned in a fire in the North Island some 18 months ago.
