The corrected return of the Patea election gives Heslop's majority as 6. Sew Hoy, the well-known merchant and dredging man, died suddenly to-day. The invalid troopers in the Hospital aro progressing favorably A Leslie Cheyne, charged with attempting to set fire to the billiard room of the Ballarat notel at Arrow town, on the'l7th inst, was remanded, bail being allowed to the extent of L9OO altogether.
