A tunnel through Mount Blanc is contemp a ted by the Breach Government, who have charged a Savoyard engineer to ill aw up plans tor the scheme. A French physician spates that coursed hares are less wholesome than trapped or shot game, and that decomposition will set in within a very few hours of the death of a hare at the end of a long run. Mr Thomas Spurgeon, son of the Rev. C 11. Spurgeon, is in such failing health that he lias been compelled to give up all his pulpit engagements, and to leave for Australia, the climate of which, it is thought, may restore him.
