The Lecture advertised to be given by the llev. Mr Ash in the Town Hall, Clyde, in aid of the Dunstan District Hospital, the funds of which are in anything hut a flourishing condition, as evidenced by the report of the Treasurer read at the last monthly meeting, which shewed a debit balance of LlO2 ICs 4d should, from a variety of causes and reasons, command a full house, and bo the moans of partially relieving the Committee of Management from the unpleasant dunning they are liable to at the hands of impecunious creditors. Another reason is to give support to the Bov. gentleman in his kindly endeavors to relieve the Institution from the debt it is burdened with. A further reason is that, as the occasion will he the last, at all events for a time, that Mr Warden Simpson will occupy the “ Chair ” in the Dunstan district, the opportunity will bo afforded of bidding him good-bye. W 7 e do not purpose here dealing further with this subject, we mention it merely, as in all likelihood on the occasion it will bo refeired to, and that many would be disappointed if not afforded the opportunity of being present, and extending to the Vice-President of the Institution the hand of friendship, and joining in the good wishes for his health and prosperity in his new sphere that are sure to be expressed.
