WRECK OF THE OTAGO.
The'Otago is a perfect wreck, she has 1 been sold’for the sum of LI 20. It is how generally understood that no lives have been Wt. All tbo gold, and the greater portion of the passengers’ luggage has been recovered. According to the chief officer, the Otago had very little cargo On board when she went ashore. Au official enquiry into tho wreck of the r.bovo was held oft Monday last, before Mr Bathgate, R.M., rtuA Captains Thomson and Logan, Nautical Assessors. Tho Insult of the proceedings was that the certificate of tbo second mate, Thomas Grierson Painter, was suspended lor two years.
