DUN STAN BREWERY. COLONiAL WINE AND 'CORDIAL MANUFACTORY. Monte Christo. ■CLYDE. JD. FERAUD takes the 'pre- • sent opportunity of informing residents of the Northern 'Goldfields and the general public that his Factory being replete with every convenience, he is now turnirigout an article not to he equalled. Mr Ferahd has succeeded in producing AROMATIC TONIC BITTER WINES, which are not only agreeable beverages, but also have excellent medicinal qualities. The following is Professor Black’s report “ University, Dhriedin, Otago, New Zealand Laboratory. 'Class—Beverages. November sth, 1875. I have examined for Mr J. I). Feraud, of Monte Christo, Clyde, Otago, two samples of Aromatic Tonic Bitters, with the following result: —No. 827 is a sherry colored, and No. 828 is a port wine red colored liquid ; they are both perfectly transparent showing the purity of the water and other substances employed in their manufacture. These two beverages have a blight acid chemical reaction, and possess ah agreeable cool bitter taste, blended with a sensation of sweetness, arising from the sacharine matter'6f the fruit Of which they arc the fomented extract. I haVe also 'examined the aromatic arid other flavoring substances used by Mr Feraud in their manufacture, and from the proportions in which they are blended with the fruit wine, they must be pronounced perfectly safe, and free from anything like deleterious properties. I consider this wine, therefore, an agreeable and perfectly safe beverage, and when diluted with three or four times their bulk of water, they will make a good cooling summer drink. James «.
