ALEXANDRA TOWN COUNCIL.

Tho Ordinary meeting of tho Council was held in tho Council Chambers on Wednesday last, tho 22nd irtstant. Tho Mayor and full Council wore present. Tho minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed. Tho Mayor was asked if he had received an answer from Mr Jones, Agent for the Bank of New Zealand, iu Reference to an overdraft for tho purpose of building a Town Hall. In reply, tho Mayor Said that M r Jones had given him a verbal answer that the Bank was agreeable to make tho advance. . Cr Mac Kersey moved—That the Town Clerk write to the Agent of the Bank of New Zealand, asking if tho Council ban obtain an overdraft of L 230, and rth what terms. Seconded by Cr Theyors Said carried. Cr Cameron moved—That owners ril goats be compelled to provide a leather, collar for each registered goat running at largej such collar to ho stamped with the Corporation seal, and that all goats found at large without a stamped collar on or after the Ist of January next bo destroyed. Seconded by Cr Simmonds and carried. Cr Mac Kersey moved, seconded by Cr Cameron, and carried That the Town Clerk - write to the police, drawing their attention » to the practice of driving horses at a furious rate into the town. Cr Mac Kersey proposed, seconded by Cr Simmonds, and carried—That tenders bo called for building tbe Town Hall. To be advertised in the Dunstan Times, Tnapeka Times, and Cromwell Argus. Tenders to be sent in to tho Town Clerk on or before the 20th of December next. A vote of thanks to the chair concluded the meeting.
