ALEXANDRA SCHOOL.
The examination of "scholars attending the above School took place during the past week. good few of the parents were present on the occasion, and all were agreed that the scholars had made great and marked progress in their separate studios since the last examination, and the expressions of satisfaction at the part Mr Reid and Miss Bruuton, the Schoolmaster and Schoolmistress had taken to produce the stated result were, if not loud, deep. A hearty vote of confidence was accorded both. The following are tho names of the prize takers :

Fifth Class.—First Division. Catherine Maekersy, Ist ; David Thomson, 2nd i Annie M'Keoman, 3rd. Fifth Class.—Second Division. Catherine Robertson, Ist ; Julia Buckley, 2nd ; Augusta Terry, 3rd. Fourth Class.—Mary Paget, Ist ; Robert Finlav, 2nd ; Samn-1 Lett, 3rd.
Third Class,—Joanna Maekersy Ist ; George Rivers, 2nd ; Samuel Cameron, 3rd.

Needle, work.—Plain. Jessie Telford, Ist ■; Sarah Ballantyne, 2nd. Special Prizes were awarded to the following pupils Girls. Annie Paget, Sarah Chappie, Esther Weaver, Jessie MTntosh, Mary Robertson, Maggie Telford GraceCharnock, Jessie Morris, and Ellen Thomson.
Boys.—Alexander Robertson, 'limothy Buckley, John Robertson, William Chappie, James Paget, John M'llroy, Richard Blackwell, William Finlay, James Beattie, Robert Ballentyne, Robert MTntosh, Alexander Thomson, John Paget, John Brennan, Edward Terry, and William Theyers. There were gift books for all who did not get Prizes.
