.A Jiockey match was played at Miss 'Modge's tehool grounds on Saturday aftecnoon between the young ladies of the Napier High School and those of Miss Hodge's school. The latter were the winners. The weather,was not quite as nice as ,oould have been wished, but otherwise a jpleasant afternoon was spent. A football match between the Heretaunga school team and the Hastings Rivals was played on Saturday afternoon, resulting in a win for Mr Fraser's pupils. The ordinary monthly meeting of the Hastings Borough Council will be held on Thursday night, and a special meeting of the Council to confirm the £2000 abattoirs loan will take place on Friday.
