VACCINATION. It was resolved on the Hon W. J. Jennings'3 motion, and on the easting vote of the Speaker, that a return be furnished showing for the past five years —(1) The number of births registered and the number of vaccinations recorded; (2) how many cases for non-compliance with the compulsory clauses have been instituted by the registrars for the past five years and how many persons fined for refusing to have children vaccinated. LAND FOR SETTLEMENTS. The Land for Settlements Amendment Bill was read a first time. FINAL READING. The Cemetery Trustees Validation Bill passed all its. stages. SECOND READINGS. The Police Offences Amendment Bill was read a second time and referred to the Statutes Revision Committee. The second reading of the Referendum Bill was adjourned, after a speech by the Hon G. M'Lean in opposition. The Council met to-night and passed an Imprest Supply Bill for £470,000 through all its stages without amendment.
