A Town in Ruins. Impossible to Estimate the Loss of Life. United Press Association. By Electric Telegraph — Copyright. (Received July 26, 11 p.m.) London, July 26. At noon yesterday an explosion destroyed the densely populated centre of Batoum. The ruins are strewn with countless dead. It is impossible to even approximately estimate the loss oE life. Batoum is a town of Russian TransCaucasia on the Black Ssea The population is about 10,000, mostly Russians.
