Major Pine Coffin, with detachments of the 9th and 15th Mounted Infantry, Essex Volunteers, nocturnally surprised Collier's commando near Honing spruit, capturing 14, including two of General Prinsloo's sons, besides horses, saddles, -rifles, and ammunition.

Four hundred Boers attacked Colonel Pileher, under cover of a veldt fire, in the Bnllfontein district last month. Mounted infantry relieved the Yeomanry, who were in a difficult position. Guns were brought into action, the Boers retiring with a lass of 7 killed and 25 woumed.

Major General Rundle, marching to Standerton, captured 42 waggons aud carts, 500 C horses, 3400 cattle, 34,000 sheep.

Major-General Bundle's Yeomanry, in the Vrede district, fought at close range, killing Captain Botha and capturing Field-Cornet Lombard. Mr Bennet Burleigh, Daily Telegraph correspondent, says that further enquiry confirms the statements that acts of butchery were committed at Vlakfontein. Sworn testimony in regard to tbe matter has been forwarded to Commandant Delarey.

Recently Commandant Louis Botha expressed t*> Lord Kitchener- his regret at the demoralisation and degeneracy in the Boer ranks and the impossibility of repressing it.
