An Apology.
United Press Association. By Electric Telegraph. — Copyright, (Received Dec. 11, 10.3 a.m.) London, Dec. 10. The President of the First Chamber of the Netherlands Parliament recently sent a letter to Kruger declaring that " the war was barbarously provoked," and expressing the hope that the independence of the republics would be permanently assured. Mr de Beaufort, Minister for Foreign Affairs in the Netherlands Cabinet, has forwarded an apology to Lord Salisbury, repudiating responsibility for the letter.
