A SIGNIFICANT VISIT.

Channel Squadron at Lisbon.

The King's Toast, " Our Great and Glorious Ally."

(Received Dec. 10, 8.55 a.m.) London, Dec. 9. The channel squadron, under ViceAdmiral Rawson, visited Lisbon, and met with a magnificent reception. The King of Portugal toasted, "Our Great and Glorious Ally, with whom we have an indissoluble alliance." It is significant that the visit should be made at the moment of tbe Portuguese quarrel with Holland. The quarrel is based on the procrastination of Holland when the recall of Mr Potts, Consul, was demanded.
