WAIPAWA.

[own cobeespondknt.] Welcome and much needed rain has been falling since yesterday. A school concert was held at Elsthorpe last evening, when a number drove from Waipawa to assist. Songs and instrumental pieces were contributed by Misses L. and E. Boyle, Miss Flynn, the Misses Coe, and Messrs Cosgrove, and Miss Moroney assisted with the accompaniments. Several of the performers have been unable to return owing to the heavy rain. A Gleaners' meeting was held at Kails ora last evening, when several Waipawa Gleaners drove there to assist. About sixteen Gleaners were present and several interesting papers oa the missionary situation in China were read, and a few remarks made on the 72nd Psalm. Missionary hymns were sung, Miss Gray acting as organist.
