The Egmont Farmers' Union (Ltd), rereport :— We held a clearing sale on the Ist on account of Mr A. Webber, of the Bird road Stratford. All cows and heifers near profit caused keen competition, whilst backward and doubtful calves were hard to quit. Dairy cows, £3 2s 6d to £8 5s ; dairy heifers, £3 10s to £6 5s ; heifers to calf, £2 10s to £4 15s ; bulls, £1 17a 6d to £3 12s 6d ; horses, £4 to £9 15s. At the Glover Road yards, on the 2nd inst, we had a fair yarding of stock. There was a large attendance, and bidding was spirited from statt to finish, resulting in nearly every pen of stock changing hands at the hammer, Fat bullocks (light weights) £6 to £6 2a 6d ; forward bullocks ; £5 to £5 lls 6 ; fat cows, £4 to £4 9s ; fat heifere, £3 15 to £4 63 ; 18 month heifers, £118s to £2 7s; heifers in calf, £3 7s 6d to £4 ; springers, £4 to £5 2s 6d • store cows, £2 10 to £217s 6 ; weaners, £1 Is to £1 6s. Sheep: Ewes in Lamb, 15e2; fat wethers, 13e6d to 16s ; fat ewes, 13s 6d to 14s 3d. We had a good yarding of stock at Okaiawa on the 3rd instant. Bidding was spirited, resulting in most of the stock changing hands before leaving the yards. Fat lieifers £3 5s to £3 18s; empty cows, £2 8s to £3 ; yearlings, £1 10s to £2 2s 6d ; weaners, £1 to £1 4s ; dairy cows and heifers, £3 12s 6d to £5 ss; cows and calves, £3 17s 6d to £5 ss; bulls, £1 10s to £2 ss. On the 6th instant, we held a clearing sale on account of Mr F. O. Friston. The cows, being a nice, even lot, and in good condition, were keenly competed for Dairy cows, £3 10s to £11 ss; bulls, £3 ; yearlings, £2 2s ; weaners, £1 3s ; pigs, 5s 6d to £1. Horses and sundries also sold well.
