Sir John Franklin, barquentine Omapere, s.s. Kahu, e.s. Mimiio, s.s., in the bay.

TheU.S.S. Co.'s s.s. Omapere arrived -at 7 o'clock yesterday morning from Auckland via East Coast and Gisborne. She has 175 tons to land, and is expected to get away ut 8 o'clock to-night. The U.S.S. Co.'s s.s. Moura, owing to meeting with easterly weather, did not arrive at Gisborne until 7 o'clock this morning. She left there at, 9 a.m., and is expected to reach here about 3 p.m. She will be tendered, by the Ahuri'ri, which leaves the Spit at 5 p.m. with the outgoing passengers. The Tyet-r Co.'s s.s. Mimiro, from "Wanganui, arrived in the bay at 7 o'clock this morning. Owing to the easterly swell in the bay, it is impossible to work her to-day. fchi is expected to leave here about Thursday for Wellington. The s.s. Tangaroa is atili waitms for a favorable opportunity to work at Wairoa. Captain Hutton, of the Omapere, who has been on holiday If aye, resumes command again at Wellington. Captain Millman, who is at present in charge, joins the Rot<rua in the same capacity. The s.s. Kahu is discharging her cargo at the breistwork this morning, and is expected to leave for We.lingtom this afternoon. ' The s.s. Ahuriri arrived pack from the wreck of the Elizabeth Price on Saturday night, bringing a>l removablegear, which was purchased by Captain Widerstrom. The keel was laid'in Messrs Harland and Wolff's shipbuilding yaid, Belfast, last month, of the new express steamer for the White Star Line, which will exceed the dimensions of the Oceanic. Replying to the telfast Telegraph representative, the Right Hon. W. J. P;rrie said that at present it was not desirable to give the actual dimensions of the new vessel, but tha% roughly sp-aking, she would be fully 2000 tons la-ger than the Oceanic. According to the late advices the N.Z.B. Co.'s new steamer Ritnutaka is j timed to leave London on her maiden trip on Bth December, and is due at Auckland on the 27th January. She will be followed by the Rangitikei (also new), leaving London on 31.se December, and arriving in Wellington about 19th February.
