Mr Balfour informed the House of Commons that the Government had intimated to the Belgian Government that they considered the result of the trial of Sipido, who attempted to assassinate the Prince of Wales, was a most unfortunate miscarriage of justice, and regretted that Sipido had not been detained pending a medical decision, in view of the actual verdict of the Court which tried him.

The Belgian Government have not as yet replied.
