OBITUARY.
United Press Association. By Electric Telegraph — Copyright. (Received July 25, 9.25 a.m.) Brisbane, This day. The death of Mr W. O. Hodgkinson, ex-Minister of Mines, is announced. The deceased gentleman was a noted Australian explorer, taking part in several expeditions to the interior. He was included in the first Griffith Ministry from 1887 to 1888, and accepted the"portfolio of Public Instruction on Sir Samuel Griffith's return to power in 1890. The deceased was 62 years of age.
