The quantity catalogued was 140,195 bales ; sold for Home consumption 73,000, Continent 52,000, American 2000, carried forward 19,000. There was strong Continental competition for merinos. The Home market for crossbreds compared with May, best greasy merinos and coarse crossbreds unchanged, other merinos and fine crossbreds declined 5 per cent. The first of the series of 1901 sales opens on the 15th January.
