RAILWAY ACCIDENT.
— O" Broken Axle the Cause. No One Seriously Hurt. [per press association.] Auckland, This day. The passenger tram from Rotorua, going twenty-five miles an hour, was derailed south of Matamata yesterday through the axle of the truck next the engine breaking. The whole train except the engine left the line. Fortunately the accident occurred in a cutting, the carriages being thrown against the banks. The passengers were thrown from their seats, but none were seriously hurt. Five chains of permaneut way were torn up. Traffic has now been resumed. II Mi.MM.llJ—ll.llir.lllHl —B
