The return of the stock of gold coin and bullion, in the Bank of England is £29,815,000 ; reserve, £18,911,000; proportion of reserve to liabilities, 38-11 ; in circulation, £30,352,000 ; Government deposits. £10,514,000 ; other deposits, £38,938,000 ; Government securities, £20,377,000; other securities, £28,402,000. GOVERNMENT SECURITIES.

Wheat—The market is auiet and

steadier. A Victorian July shipment sold at 31s, parcels at 30s. Copper — Spot £73 15s, three months' £73 17s 6d. Tin—The market is quiet. Spot £126, three months' £127 ss. Lead—£l7 10s. Iron—72 s. Sugar—German lis 10|d, Wool —At the sales there was good competition at improved prices. The following clips were sold :— Omarama B|d, Ellerslie lUd. The Bradford market is brisker, bat prices are unchanged.

Silver—2s 4 3-16 d per oz. Three months' bills are discounted at 3| per cent.
