The steamer Salamis has been chartered to convey the colonial con tingents to China. She is now -fitting, and has accommodation for 500 men. Melbourne, July 19. The contingent for China receive the Imperial rate of pay, but the colonial Government will provide the difference between the colonial aud English rates.
